A Match Made in Heaven: Wati and Danladi
Wati and Danladi are not only a match made by friends but a match made in Heaven.
Their connection, friendship and love is one that can be felt from miles away and luckily, the couple was excited to share their love story with us.
Balami Watirahyel Harami (Wati), the bride is from Maiduguri Borno state. Wati spent the first ten years of her life in Borno, where she attended Ruby model school. Her family later moved to Abuja and there she attended FGGC Bwari and FGC Keffi. She further went to the University of Abuja, Coventry University and the United Kingdom for her higher education.
Wati did not leave anything out when she told us about her love story, the events that led to meeting her man and the wedding preparations. She said Danladi was introduced to her by a relative.
“A relative of mine spoke to Danladi about me and gave him my contact. We got in touch and that same week another mutual friend tried to hook us up without knowing we had started talking.
Hmmm… lol, I got the feeling that he was the one from the moment Tosin (our mutual friend) spoke to Danladi about me again. After she found out we had started talking, she said to me; ‘Wati that’s your husband’. She said something didn’t allow her rest until she spoke to him about me.
When I met him, we talked and connected instantly. I figured immediately that we shared a lot in common and it felt like we had known ourselves for ages. And as time went on, we went through a lot but that only made us even closer and till now, challenges bring us closer than apart… that’s a fact! And for me, that is the kind of man I want to go through life with; knowing life is full of ups and downs.
Apart from the connection, his spirituality, focus, and charisma, Danladi is like a gift that’s not perfect for everyone but perfect for me… lol. And I won’t lie, It’s scary…because everything about me is going to change; my name, my address, my home, my way of life… almost everything. But having to go through this changes with not just the love of my life but my best friend makes is worthwhile and a change to look forward to.
All my life, from the schools I attended, my grades, my job, my man, I always strive to get the best and the same goes to my wedding; I wanted everything to be exquisite and perfect.
My traditional wedding outfits were made by Kathy Anthony, I chose her because I love her style and she knows how to put a northern touch to a modern outfit. My pre-wedding black dress was from Sara Mayen. Sara treats customers like friends and she’s also very good at her job.
My first and second dresses for the wedding were made by style temple. Style temple is very creative and also a fantastic designer, one of the best in the country. They all put a smile on my face and I got value for money.
Bells events are someone I have known and the passion for her job made me chose her to manage my event. And she did a very good job, I must commend her.
Sando’s bakeshop is the first place I starting buying birthday cakes from and my wedding cake was also made by her. Sandos has become family and she keeps amazing me by the way her work evolves each day. She always comes through for me honestly, so I knew on that case I could go to sleep.
I chose peach as my color because I love it and one of the colors that complement peach most is teal. It looked very beautiful and in fact, my husband’s favorite color is now teal because he has heard me mention it a million times during the wedding… ha ha ha and he loves the color now”.
Indeed, it was a match made in heaven
